Macadamian, a global leader in software product creation, today announced popular blog and review site Lifehacker named uTorrent, an application developed by BitTorrent in conjunction with Macadamian, as the best BitTorrent client for Mac. Lifehacker's The App Directory, a new and growing directory of recommendations for the best applications and tools, cited uTorrents great feature set, admirable flexibility, overall speed as reasons for this win.
uTorrent is a freeware, closed source client owned by BitTorrent, Inc using the BitTorrent peer to peer protocol for distributing files in small pieces without the need for centralized data centers. It is the most widely used BitTorrent client outside China with over 100M users. Originally limited to the Microsoft Windows Platform, BitTorrent engaged Macadamian to create a Mac OS X version of its popular client.
