Credit.com And BillFloat Partner to Offer Better Way To Pay Bills

San Francisco, CA (Vocus) October 1, 2010

Credit.com, a leading credit education and financial services company and BillFloat, the first and only provider of consumer-centric small-dollar loans for bill payment, will announce a strategic partnership next week at Finovate 2010 in New York.

Credit.com visitors will have access to the first small-dollar lending solution that offers consumers more time to pay their bills to over 3,000 billers including utility, cable and satellite, cell phone, auto lease,, housing, and insurance payments. In contrast to payday lenders that have encountered resistance from State and Federal regulators for high cost lending practices, BillFloats solution embraces the FDICs Small Dollar Loan Template. BillFloat will be featured alongside Credit.com tools, consumer credit news, a selection of credit cards, credit scoring products and unbiased product reviews by its team of experts.

Millions are struggling to stay current with their bills during these financially turbulent times. Their credit situation is taking a nosedive and their lives are being turned upside down, said Credit.com Chairman and Co-Founder Adam Levin, who is a former Director of the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs. BillFloat gives consumers a safe and secure way to better protect their credit by avoiding score killers like late fees, overdraft charges, service termination, and high cost payday loans.

BillFloat offers a compelling, consumer-centric alternative in the $ 50 billion small-dollar loan market. The payment service gives consumers trapped in a short-term cash crunch much needed breathing room to manage their bills responsibly.

We focus on delivering the best way for consumers to get ahead of their bill payment obligations. Our partnership with Credit.com allows our customers to build and maintain good credit scores and graduate to traditional financial offerings, said Ryan Gilbert, BillFloat CEO. We provide consumers relief from the $ 32 billion in overdraft protection, non-sufficient funds, and late fees that are paid by American families every year.

EuSpRIG 2010 Spreadsheet Experts Offer Practical Solutions

(PRWEB) March 1, 2010

The European Spreadsheet Risks Interest Group (EuSpRIG), is holding its 2010 conference on the theme of "Practical steps to defend organisations against out-of-control spreadsheets" on the 15th - 16th July 2010 at the University of Greenwich, London, UK. Keynote speakers include Morten Siersted of F1F9, a leading financial modelling services firm.

Ralph Baxter, the CEO of ClusterSeven, comments that "Eusprig has led the way in identifying spreadsheet risk and the consequences for businesses. As a regular attendee I know that the annual conference is a great opportunity to meet experts in this domain and discuss the latest thinking."

Simon Murphy, Excel developer and author of the SmurfOnSpreadsheets blog, agrees: There is one main forum for discussing spreadsheet risk and quality. I wouldn't recruit a chef who knew nothing about food hygiene, and I wouldn't recruit a spreadsheet user or developer who knew nothing about spreadsheet hygiene. Eusprig is the place to get that knowledge.

EuSpRIG 2010 is a forum for business people, regulators, auditors, academics and other interested parties to share information and ideas about the management of spreadsheet risks, related problems and opportunities. Typically there are 20 papers and presentations in each year's conference. Speakers and delegates are expected from all over Europe, USA and Canada including representatives from major banks and auditing firms, and universities worldwide. Further information about EuSpRIG, including the conference programme and booking information is available at http://www.eusprig.org.

The EuSpRIG conference has been hugely successful in terms of influencing the way the audit profession and large organisations manage Business Critical spreadsheets said Grenville Croll of Spreadsheet Engineering, who hands over the EuSpRIG Chair to Patrick OBeirne in February 2010.

This year we are particularly keen to feature case studies and are offering a range of opportunities to contributors from simple poster sessions to fully peer reviewed papers, added Simon Thorne, EuSpRIG programme committee chair.

About EuSpRIG

EuSpRIG offers Risk Managers the worlds only independent, authoritative & comprehensive web based information describing the current state of the art in Spreadsheet Risk Management. We run a well-established annual conference which provides a forum for researchers, practitioners, trainers, vendors, consultants and auditors. EuSpRIGs entire peer reviewed proceedings are published on the publicly accessible Cornell University repository http://www.arxiv.org. EuSpRIG provide speakers and content for professional societies, associations, conferences and journals. EuSpRIG is a not-for-profit organisation governed by an elected committee operating under the terms of a written constitution. Committee members include senior managers and directors of leading accounting firms and senior academics from European Universities.
